AI agents for specific business tasks

Task-focused assistants that support defined workflows, with a role and boundaries agreed around your business needs.

What is an AI agent?

An AI agent is an assistant configured to support a particular task. It uses information and instructions to respond to requests and, where the implementation allows it, carry out permitted steps in a workflow.

Its role should be specific. The information it can use, the actions it may take and the situations that require a person need to be agreed before it is put to use.

Give the assistant a clear responsibility

Possible uses include helping with routine questions or supporting a defined internal process. The exact task, channel and level of action depend on the project. Website chat, messaging, scheduling and system connections are separate requirements to confirm, not standard features assumed to be included.

Decide where people stay involved

An agent's output can be incorrect or incomplete. The project needs an appropriate way to review its behaviour and handle requests outside its intended role. The more consequential the task, the more carefully its permissions and oversight should be defined.

Agent or assisted tool?

Choose an agent when the aim is to support a sequence of defined steps within agreed limits. Choose an assisted tool when a person should request, inspect and use each output. Some projects may combine both approaches.
